One of the simplest and quickest breads to make, it was originally introduced to avoid throwing away sour milk. We mix by hand (to avoid over mixing) into a lumpy, wet, mass. This is then delicately shaped into loaves and baked directly on the stone of the oven. Bread in 45 minutes from start to finish. Often served as open sandwiches and complements seafood beautifully.

Ingredients: wheat flour, bicarbonate of soda, salt, milk, lemon juice
